CALDAS NOVAS

Caldas Novas is a city located in Goiás state center of Brazil.

Caldas Novas with about 76,616 inhabitants. This city is known for having the largest hydrothermal resort in the world, having on their territory, waters that spring from the ground with temperatures in the range of 33 °C to 60 °C.

History

The city of new grout was discovered by Bartolomeu Bueno da Silva (Wikipedia Article), in 1722, at that time, still belonging to the Region of Santa Cruz in the hinterland of Goiás. These lands soon caught the attention of the public due to their therapeutic property coming from the warm waters. Because of this, Martinho Coelho Siqueira (Wikipedia Article) decided to explore the area and eventually discovered other new sources.
In 1818, the city was visited by Auguste de Saint Hilaire accompanied 
by the then governor of Goiás who was cured of paralysis and rheumatism suffering, making the city even more famous.
In 1880, Captain Candido Gonzaga de Menezes had disaggregate Caldas Novas, the city of Santa Cruz, so it became part of the municipality of Vila Bela Morrinhos.

Fair Moonlight

The Fair Moonlight is a typical city attraction, performed in an area of more than 1,000 m² and is held every Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 pm. The fair is for the natives who wish to present their crafts to the tourists who revel in the wonderful foods sold at the Fair Moonlight.

Mother Church

The church, built in 1850, is considered a tourist city property, being the oldest building of Caldas Novas. The last renovation was in 1999. Known as Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, it still holds, today, the walls and columns of the original wood.

Japanese Garden

The Japanese Garden was built by the Japanese Toshiyuki Murai (Wikipedia Article), now living in Brazil. The garden was inspired by the Buddhist gardens and everything in it has some sort of meaning, all guarded and protected by the dragons. In the midst of the natures, the garden invites guests to take 10 minutes to devote themselves to meditation.

Corumbá Lake

The Corumbá Lake (Wikipedia Article), located about 9 km from the city center is about 100 km long and 65 km² in area. The lake offers many attractions for tourists such as water sports, fishing and amazing boat trips.

Hot pond

The Hot Pond has several hot sources with water temperature up to 60 ° C being the hottest found in the city. Due to this fact,the natives call this pond an egg burning source because the temperature is so high that one has the ability to boil an egg in this water.

Mountain Park of Caldas

The Mountain Park of Caldas, or PESCAN, as it is also known was created in 1970 with the intention of protecting the flora and fauna threatened with extinction. The park has about 12,315,358 hectares and is administered by the Goiana Environmental Agency. Additionally, it has visiting hours severely controlled to continue preserving the original atmosphere of the park.

The Cachaçaria

The Museum of Soy was created with the goal of telling the story of soy, such as the production procedures, and teaching visitors of the importance of this food. The museum was opened in 2007 and operates from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 18:00 pm.
